START YOUR JOURNEY TO WELLNESS THROUGH THE POWER OF PILATES

Angela Bence
We all come with a story and history of our life. The aim of sharing mine has only one purpose:

‘To Inspire’

In 2019 I was ‘a mess’. I’d spent decades of alcoholism, prescription drug abuse, and food addiction. At my heaviest I was 20 stone and only knew how to look after my body with pills and other self-sabotaging ways.

My mobility was deteriorating, I was always waiting for surgery/scans and had horrendous health anxiety. I couldn't get out of bed without numerous pills and help from my husband. Following a wakeup call I was forced to take a year off work. I had a choice, live or die. I knew my childhood trauma was a problem so dived into psychology. I simply wanted to rewire my brain. I had read it was possible, so made the biggest, best decision in my life. I no longer wanted to be a victim but instead took responsibility for my health. I was so disconnected from my body, I had no idea who I was.
Neuroplasticity was my new vocation. I stopped drinking and found an amazing clinical Pilates teacher to replace the alcohol. Over a year I came off 10 prescription drugs I was addicted to. In place of these I discovered breath work, meditation, energy medicine along with the correct therapy for childhood abuse victims.
It took a year to become addiction free and I've now lived holistically for over five years. There is no doubt Pilates connected my mind and body along with a love for the Buddhist philosophy.

My aim is to help others heal with themselves with the power of Pilates.

I'm not part of the fitness industry and simply see myself as a natural healer who has 40 years’ experience in western medicine and healed her own suffering in ways medicine never taught me.

'Movement heals the mind and body'

There is no ‘quick fix’ in life to ease suffering long term. But there is a way to connect our minds and body and trust me - the body has an amazing capacity to heal itself.
